South Mebane is fortunate to have an excellent, up to date computer lab. We have 30 Macintosh emac computers, along with an LDC projector to aid instruction. All students, Kinders-5th grade, come to the lab for technology instruction with me. Kinders-2nd graders come biweekly, 3rd-5th graders come weekly. Classroom teachers have the opportunity to bring their classes the lab during open times in order to use technology within the curriculum that they teach. Skills taught include word processing, spreadsheet, database, and multimedia. Applications used are Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, KidPix, and Kidspiration, along with internet browsers Safari and Firefox. Beginning this year, all students have Gaggle email accounts and will learn "email etiquette".
